3 games in the books. Will he make it to 12? A loss next week could be the last straw.

does it really matter when he's gone?? next week, end of season? Etc. He's gone, he knows it, we all know it-another 1-11 season would be an appropriate (i guess) book end to the brew ball era. Sad. We fans and the players deserve better

another moral victory, we beat the point spread. I can count at least a half-dozen of those in this game. Its like the Wacker Era all over again.

Brew will only be fired mid-season if the team quits on him, and that is highly unlikely to happen next week. In fact, if the team feels they are getting better and are at least competitive, I don't think they quit on the coach all year.

That didn't take long. Can we please give it a rest already, nobody thought they'd win this game.

Brewster's faults may be legion, but he's not Wacker. Wacker's best record was 4-7. Brewster has twice put up records better than Wacker's best. Wacker once won three Big Ten games in a season, Brewster did it twice.

Come one now...

Wacker's Non-Conference Schedules included teams like Kansas State, Colorado, a Marshall Faulk'd San Diego State, etc...

Not MTSU...or FAU...or SDU...

But that's part of the potential problem. Both players and coaches have made concerted efforts to tell us all how much they're improving. Do they really believe it? It's hard to justify either thinking it or saying it after seeing the onfield product.

Wacker's also included powerhouses like Pacific, San Jose St., Arkansas St. and NE Louisiana.

I am absolutely sick of Mediocrity. Brewster is not even mediocre

The defense definitely improved over the first 2 games. If they can do that again for next week, we have a great chance to win. And if that happens, the team won't quit on Brewster.

Fine, let's look at Big Ten wins. Brewster is already closing on on Wacker's Big Ten win total. Wacker had eight Big Ten wins in 5 years, Brewster has six in three years. No matter how much you want to talk smack, Brewster is not Wacker. He may be Joe Salem, but not Wacker.

In fairness, the defense didn't really have anywhere to go but up after last week's stellar showing. You may be correct, but the fact that we've been reduced to hoping for wins over Nothern Illinois doesn't exactly give me great confidence in our "improving" team...

How many quality wins has Brew had?? I can think of 2 (Air Force and MSU).

Still zero wins agianst ranked opp. and trophy games.

MRJ, I feel the same way.

But the last couple of USC drives they could not stop them at all when it mattered. This defense is still in the bottom 1/2 of the B10 easy, IMO...

True, and USC that same off left tackle play about 4 times, one for a touchdown and another for a long gainer. However, the that happened after the face mask, the D was tired, and they let down for a bit because of both. That will happen with an inexperienced D. Overall, I was very pleased with their effort. If they can do that for an entire game, and get better with experience, they could be a middle tier Big Ten defense this year. And yes, that will be a huge challenge for them to do so.

honestly today the players played their hearts out and i think performed very well, it was the coaching decisions, ATROCIOUS clock management and BEYOND PREDICTABLE playcalling that lost the game

I compared him to Joe Salem, so I didn't exactly sing his praises from the rooftop. He's just not Wacker.

Brewster gets the gas........when....sometime in 2010. Let me pose this question. What top coach is going to want take over for;

1. The current AD
2. The current budget spend
3. Existing landscape

The whole bucket should be turned in my opinion. Brewster would make a better AD then a coach and a better AD then Maturi. Just get an Athletic Director who gets it, gets allumi, gets fundraising, gets what it takes to win. MN is almost there really, TCF is a pretty sweet start, the fans are ready to support. The head of this situation is the real problem. Seems like the blind leading the blind.

Wooo-Hooo!!! After 4 years we can look at it as a positive sign IF we beat N. Illinois. At that pace Brewster will have us in Pasadena somewhere around 2020.

On beating air force and msu-these are "quality" wins!? Unreal...quality does not mean beating teams with a 500 or marginally better record.

I see four games left where we have a fighters chance to win. Next week, NU, @Ill and @Purdue.

Thats it. No chance in hell of beating OSU, PSU, @UW. @MSU or Iowa.

At least under Mason we had some glimmer of hope against the B10 elite.
