Could wisky lose today?

Any team playing today could lose today. But I'd be pretty surprised if Michigan wins.

Three Gopher Holers could run pass patterns against michigan and each have 100 yard days.

sure looks bleak for Michigan. Also looks like Mich-state could do the choke.

Jesus, I think Michigan's secondary might be worse than ours.

We can dis on the man at the helm, but the Badgers are a good football team.

Not the least bit surprised to see Michigan losing, but I am quite surprised to see them being blanked on the scoreboard to this point. And yes, Sconnie is very, very good. Darnit.

I F-ing hate wisconsin.

I agree. I hate how they are winning right now. F-ing smug a$$ Bret.

This reminds me of an argument I had with my Becky friend. He tried telling me Sconnie had tons of National Championships (he was including all sports). I told him but in the biggest sport Becky had ZERO NCs. He told me they had one. And even pointed out the link. Apparently Wisconsin won a NC in '42. I had to point out to him that one vote from HAF (don't know what establishment that is) DOESN'T count as a NC.

Not a coincidence

It's no coincidence that two of the top 3 teams in the conference right now, Wisconsin and Michigan State, are rolling with 17 4th or 5th year seniors.

The announcers for the Mich-Wisky game had it right; with THIS many 4th and 5th year seniors, there's no doubt that this is the year for Wisconsin to make some noise.

Then look at Michigan or the Gophers. Michigan had ONE senior on defense, and as a result their defense looked about as pathetic as the Gophers.

I can't wait until the Gophers actually have primarily juniors and seniors taking the field. Getting tired of watching freshmen, RS freshmen and sophomores on the field in full force....

Agree. Wisconsin will not be as good next year. Would be surprised if they get to 10 wins next year. Good young RB, but will have to rebuild the D and the line.

The Badgers return 8 starters on defense unless Watt goes pro. They also will get Borland back off injury. Not exactly rebuilding job material.

No question that's a key. I got ridden a bit on my suggestion that Brewster's impatience was one of the things that did him in as he played way too many true freshman in his second year as head coach. Wisconsin and Iowa do a lot of things the right way, but the thing they probably do best is build their depth on the lines and are thus able to plug guys in when seniors graduate.

As for next year, it's a long ways away. Wisconsin should be alright. As good as this year? Who can honestly say.

Ummm

Yeah, because clearly the defense was the key to the Badgers success this year; giving up around 24 points a game in BT play, and that's with an offense that controls TOP.

It wouldn't have anything to do with having a senior QB and a couple guys on the O-line that will be playing on Sunday next year?

The Badgers are having a great year this year. You can't take anything away from them. They took advantage of the good fortune that came their way (winning two games by a point because of a blocked XP late), they got OSU at home, and they'll get Northwestern next week without Dan Persa. They are definitely one of the top 10-12 teams in the country this year, riding a powerful experienced offensive line. Here's hoping they represent the BT well in whichever bowl they end up in. It would be nice if the BT built on the improved success they had in the bowl games last year.

It's good fortune if the kid just misses or a poor snap prevents the kick. When you BLOCK the kick, you've manufactured your luck.

It's a rare season where a very good team is completely unchallenged.

Wanna know how Bad Michigans defense is?

If they had the gopher defense, they would compete for a big ten title....thats how bad their defense is.

I think Watt will leave, but not sure. But they do not have a dominat D, and their O will not be as good next year, IMO, and if they cant grind out 15 play drives I think the D might be a bit more exposed. We shall see though. Hope they keep it going, but I could see a 5-3 B10 record next year.

Isn't there a Badger message board?

Just kidding...kind of.

Anybody else read the "Forde Yard Dash" each week on espn.com?

If so, part of this week's Dash was an ode to Thanksgiving and who Pat Forde was inviting to the table and what each person would bring to the feast. This is what he said about inviting Bret Bielama to Thanksgiving Dinner:

Bret Bielema, Wisconsin. Spends most of the day in the basement beating small children in pingpong 21-2.

Simply Tremendous.

I guess that makes you one of the little kids. I would rather be the one doing the beating.

Whatever. I posted it because it was rather witty, not to rip on Bielama. Go back and look at the posts after the IU game, as much as I hate the Badgers, I had no problem with Sconnie scoring 83 on them.

I should have linked the entire column so people could have a better reference point. There are some other good cheap shots in there too.
