be replaced?

He was one of those guys that has never really lived up to the hype and wonder if he is really that crucial to the O for next year.

I actually liked what I saw from him on the field last year, could do without the xtra curriculars though.

He didn't really have a great opportunity this year to prove himself. Not everyone walks in ready to play. He should be productive down the road.

Of course he could be replaced.

As we've seen the last couple of years, it's a wide open competition. Whoever shows up and produces will start next year. Each freshman back will have an opportunity to prove themselves next year

I think it would be a bit of a rush to judgment to say that a player who has used 1 year of eligibility has not lived up to the hype. I like the way he runs; he just needs more weight.

Hasn't lived up to the hype? As a first year player? Wow. I thought the coaches had it tough on this board.

Whaley's issue has been that he hasn't "grown into a college RB yet". He was somewhat productive last season, but he is unable to shoulder our running game because his lack of size. I am not certain he will ever be an every down back, and he could lose his job to Wright. However, I really like Whaley's speed and he does run hard despite his lack of size.

Whaley is the best running back currently on the team. I'll have to see something from the newcomers before thoughts of replacing him enter my head.

something tells me a jokeright and doogie know each other......or at least have the same sources.....

So long Kevin...don't let the door hit ya.

what a complete idiot. hopefully this kid gets the help he needs.

He's just a RS Freshman so its hard to know what the Gophers have in him since we've only seen him on the field for one year.

You like the way he tip-toed to the edge, indecisively made a cut back towards a hole that wasn't really there, then got knocked backwards upon being hit?! That seriously baffles me. I wonder if you saw any game outside of the Purdue one.

Easy to Replace

Yes he could be replaced by anyone. We were last in the Bigten in offensive how could we get any worse?

I searched the Rivals site for a Juco that could help and the only player that looked like a possibility is 3* Juco sophomore Mike Harris. He committed to Arkansas as a 3* RB out of a Tulsa high school, but for some reason had to go the Juco route. He's rated high 3* (5.7), but was on a poor Independence (KS) Community College team. He's listed as 5'10", 205 lbs with a 4.4 40. I just noticed that Rivals had him as a 4* in November, but they dropped him down a notch. I would guess his offer sheet had something to do with it. His only offer is Wyoming, but he wants more options before he commits:

Out of high school (2007) he's in the Rivals database as Michael Harris:
