Corn Nation on Nebbie Loss to UCLA

Nebraska is now 0-7 over the last 2 seasons when they had a chance to become bowl eligible.
What's crazy is that bowl eligibility looked like a lock a few weeks ago and now it is not a sure thing for them at all.

Their 3 remaining games are a trip to USC, a home game with Wisconsin, and a road trip to Iowa. They needed this one to ensure they get to 6, they probably still do but at this point they could lose all 3 of those games as well.

The BIG gutted Nebraska. All they have are days gone by. They may not give Rhule time. Riola will transfer and should

I cannot feel bad for Nebraska until they get over being outraged that they lost to an average team that is better than them. The fact that they think every loss to a team like Illinois, Minnesota, UCLA is below them is so off putting.
I actually do feel kind of bad for them. Imagine living in Nebraska, with no landscape, bad weather, and nothing to do. But you always had the Huskers, who were the state's treasure. You had fall Saturday afternoons to cheer on a darn good team. And it happened every single year. Until the Big Ten journey started. It came crashing down and now... the one thing you called your own is a shadow of its former self. You just pine for the glory years, but you really know they are never coming back. I'd be sad too.

They live in the past like no other fan base.

But, I think they will beat Wisconsin after what I saw of the Badgers performance last night to get their long awaited bowl…. & unfortunately they will likely leapfrog better teams for bowl placement because they will travel 80,000 fans….$$$.

For sure. I would rather see them do well than Iowa or Wisconsin.

I think he's wrong. Nebraska will beat Wisconsin which will finish the season 5-7. Poor Bucky.

Their hoops fans tore it up in Minneapolis during the Big 10 Basketball Tournament this spring.

I imagine Gopher fans in the 1960s went through the same sort of mourning process as the team plummeted from grace, they just didn't have YouTube.

Riola didn’t throw a touchdown in October. He may be talented but maybe is part of the issue.
Gotta be huge odds that Raiola moves on after this season. I agree with the comments about Neb. fans looking down on Minn and most of the Big Ten actually. They have not done well at all in 15 years or so, one of the bottom 3 or 4 in the league. Don’t really get where that comes from.

They used to be my favorite non Big Ten team, now I seldom find myself rooting their way.

Rhule in his career has always had below average teams until year 3
people expecting greatness in year two didn’t study his history

The graphic they continue to put up during broadcasts is the huge jump he makes from year 1 to year 2.

Example below, but it’s easy to find several articles stating the same:

I've always admired him streaming from the shitter.
Especially with the bottle of Pepto on the vanity!

Would be hilarious if Nebby would loose the rest of their games and miss another bowl. They have basically been put in their place since they joined the B1G. Oregon, so far, is the only team to recently join the B1G and not get smacked in the face with the competition.

I’m not talking about a graphic.

I’m talking

Temple year 1 2-10
Year 2 6-6
Year 3 10-4
Year 4 10-3

Baylor
1-11
7-6
11-3

Nebraska
5-7
5-4

He is on or ahead of schedule right now

Now do Carolina. This is the BIG and not the Big 12. The Big XII is exposed for we’ve always known. Not very tough.

Rhule said this year that Nebraska was ahead of schedule on being good. I think they are actually an okay team, but they still have the amazing ability to grab defeat from the jaws of victory. They have no backup qb, which is something Rhule should have fixed. Nebraska is not going to be significantly better next year. I still think they are a 6 or 7 win team.

Maybe true and crazy times with Nil and the portal but they lose a ton heading into next year. I expect them to take a step back. I think the qb is gone.

I agree
They just aren’t a 10 win team

And all the panic and criticism is because for about a month some people got ahead of their skis in prognosticating

If you thought they were a 6/7 win team coming in, they’re a half game behind schedule.

I think they beat Wisconsin and finish 6-6

I think next year is huge for Rhule regardless of who the QB is.
Can’t have Indiana doing what they’re doing and give Rhule a 4th year if they finish 5-7 in year 3
