Bill Connelly, who does one of, if not the best, jobs on college football has Gophers as #32 in nation, better than 9 of 12 opponents on schedule.

Puts us as the first team out of tier 4, teams "that a couple will play at a top 15 level" and at top of Tier 5, teams that "with a few decent breaks, a few of these teams could make runs at division titles, particularly those in the Big Ten West or ACC Coastal." He notes that his ranking of Northwestern is one of the most out of line with the statistical analysis (which has NW at #37).

Not a dink.

Both his stats model and his gut tells him CSU is better than Oregon State. I would love a demoralizing gut punch to kick off OSU's season.

Connelly really doesn't like Michigan State. This is one of those teams that could almost literally do anything this year in terms of record. I hope they stink at least vs us.

I'm not sure it's wise to accept college football analysis from this guy:

Totally. There are so many complete dogs above them...Indiana, Maryland, Navy, Middle Tennessee State. I think MSU is destined to be 4th in their division and their hey day might be over, but they still have a lot of talent and think they will slightly bounce back and win 6/7 games this year.
