I think he's deserving of his own thread. Welcome Coney Durr! I wonder if they are done at CB now? Or if they'd take Winfield.

Oh man - I love him already! Great film.
 

He covers a lot of ground on some of those tackles! I wonder what his 40 time is. On that one kick off not only did he look like the fastest person on the field but he looked huge compared to the 3 guys chasing him that he ran away from.

One site I looked at said he was 4.6. I find that hard to believe. He does look very fast. And he has great explosion on his hits.
 

Very impressive player. He's quick with a nose for the ball carrier if nothing else. Seems like he isn't afraid of contact. He reminds me of other slightly smaller players we've recruited that are very quick and are unafraid to hit, eg Celestin, Huff, Shenault.
 

Surprised this hasn't gotten more attention. Great pick up in my opinion.

Perhaps his recognition is great, which acts as a multiplier on his effective speed. In his video, Seems like he is consistently recognizing earlier than most, trusting his read and attacking extremely well.

I agree, unless my eyes are deceiving this kids flashes at more than a 4.6 Welcome Coney Durr to the Gophers and SKI-U-MAH!

A 40-yard dash of 4.6 seconds for a high schooler is insanely fast. If that's what's being reported, it might actually be somewhat truthful.
 

OK, I'll ask it: hand-timed or electronic?

Seriously - there is "track" speed and there is "football" speed. some guys look great in shorts running a 40 at the combine, but it's a different game when they have to run in pads and cover a WR. measureables are nice, but you can't measure guts, heart, desire or willingness to accept coaching.

Agree completely. If a kid runs 4.6 (which is still very fast) but recognizes a play/processes what he should do .2 seconds quicker than a 4.4 guy - they get to point of attack at the same time. 40 times can be useful as a tie-breaker between players, but so much more goes into it.

4.6 range is feasible if he can really fly. In a gym, in shorts, etc.
