I think we were 57th last week and we've moved all the way up to #56. Just behind 4-5 Mississippi St (who would be a favorite against us).

Also ahead of us:

#52 Marshall 6-3
#51 Buffalo 7-2
#48 North Carolina 4-5
#47 Pittsburgh 5-4
#45 Wasington St 4-5 - For those of us who like Leach ;)

Sagarin Rankings through Nov 9

Yes, but that's entirely due to margin of victory, and we're still getting punished heavily for getting thumped by Iowa and Michigan. The part of the computers that doesn't take margin of victory into account has us at 31.

Computers are also punishing us for a crappy non-conference slate. We needed the 4 wins, so I'm not complaining, but that doesn't help us in the eyes of the computer...

The game is never played on a computer. Its played between the lines and the only numbers that matter are the scoreboard and 8-2.

Yep! +1. All we can do is beat the teams put in front of us. That is why games are played on the field and we are 8-2. Scoreboard is all that matters. I for one, couldn't be happier with the season so far!

Actually the computers have been pretty accurate regarding the Gophers this year. They were aware of Northwestern and Nebraska being overrated well before the polls were.

Now, if we could beat Wisconsin or Michigan State, that would be a pretty big shock to the system.

Computers. What do they know? Who uses those things anyways?

I think the computer program was written by Ruesse and Souhan.

Anything that has Arizona State and Washington in the top 10 doesn't make any sense...

Still think the polls have us a tad overrated. (Imagine that.) The trick for the coaches is to keep this group's feet on the ground and focused on the task at hand. Mason readily admits that he wasn't successful in this regard when his teams tasted success.
