Colorado Springs Gazette

Coming from a Gopher fan who used to live in the Springs the Gazette has never really been very nice to the Falcons even when they win. And every opponent outside of the Mountain west is always a mild upset no matter who it is. It's too bad that they're really the only "big" newspaper in the Springs.

As a Gopher alum who currently lives in Colorado Springs the Gazette is not that high quality of a paper for a city this size (not to mention the fact that they are in total bankruptcy). Their writing is subpar and while the city likes the AFA sports it's not that big of a deal here IMO.

Live in the Springs as well and though Gazette writers do have their fair share of homerism in CO teams, AF doesn't get a whole lot of love.

Minnesota dropped the Falcons 20-13 on a breezy, warm night.
Breezy? I don't recall even the slightest hint of a breeze during the game.

I remember feeling a slight breeze for all of about 1 second. I remember it well because I was concentrating so much on the game I was thinking "where did that come from?" and then reminding myself "Duh, we are OUTSIDE!"

There was a very slight east wind because I also remember looking at the little flags on the goal posts and the end zone flags while the Gophers had the ball on their last possesion. As they neared field goal range I was thinking it probably wouldn't really extend the kicking range but it certainly wouldn't hurt.

However, you are correct. When I hear "breezy" I think about wind actually being a factor... and it was not a factor Saturday night.

My oldest brother is an Air Force retiree, and his 74th birthday was Saturday, Sept. 12. We gave him a great BD gift with the win over AFA. Great job Gophers...
