Colorado offers...

Great move. I know we had a lot of success hiring a tight ends coach from the pros...

Nevertheless, it means that they didn't beat us to a quality pick.

They will be doing what we are now in four years :)

It sucks that they might have a coach before us, but it could be worse...we could have hired Jon Embree.

From the story the formula they are looking to follow is something the U was trying for in Tony Dungy.

"McCartney was a candidate to replace Dan Hawkins but said his plan all along, had he been named coach, was to hire Embree and Bieniemy on his staff and groom one of them to take over as head coach in two or three years. When it became clear he would not get the head coaching position, McCartney said he pushed for Embree or Bieniemy to get the job."

The quotes from Bill McCartney are rather confusing, sounds like he was intent on having a African-American coach.

A TE's coach from Mike Shanahan's staff. Way to go CU. All the best to you. HAHA.

McCartney would be my first hire if I was Embree.

makes some since that CU would go this way. complete oppostie of their previous hrie which was a proven head coach in Hawkins and did not work out.

this is why the U will go a previous direction from their last hire which was someone unproven which did not work out to hire a known commodity. or at least someone with head coaching experience.

hires often go the oppsoite direction of the previous hire. the thinking being needing to go in an opposite direction since the last direction didn't work.

Hard to figure - why be in such a rush? Maybe it means we have a corner on a more impressive candidate.

Tremendous hire. Kill shot. Very very tremendous. Buffalo Nation.

This is why I think Shannon might be in play. He is unlike our last three coaches. He doesn't seem to be a used car salesman and doesn't seem arrogant like Mason.

They could have gone with a different tight ends coach who has already made his rookie HC mistakes.

Probably a good chance Brewster can have a job on the staff at Boulder with his Shannahan connections.

Shanahan must have a special way to prep his TE coaches for job interviews!

I actually feel bad about Shannon getting fired, but he had some really ugly losses at Miami, with at least good talent. Playing Jacori Harris was a complete crap shoot, big plays and big screw ups.

and now the expected denials from the CU AD have started. So CU fans are back to where we are.
