Michigan ended the season unranked. They received some votes, but were behind some other schools in that category.

I know they had a strong finish, beating the eventual National Champion OSU and beat a #11 ranked Alabama, but I don't think that warrants placing them in the top 10.

M is the 13 letter in the alphabet and since Ohio state #3 and Michigan beat them last year, he took 13-3 =10 and that’s how Michigan became #10. Simple math really
