Lou Holtz just predicted on CFL that USC would win the Pac-10 this season. His reasoning? That USC doesn't have a "tough" game until the 5th game of the year at Washington and the rest of the tougher games are at home. Yes, thats right, we play them in the 3rd game of the year. I guess it won't be "tough" for USC to win here.

I hope the Gophers beat USC. I would love to hear Lou Holtz and Mark May try to explain away that one.

I have a hard time getting on Lou Holtz... he is more than fair in his assessment of the Gophers typically.

That said, I was 4 years old when he left Minneapolis so I don't know if I should think less of him than I do.

To be fair, USC winning or losing at Minnesota will neither help or hurt USC in the Pac 10.

Maybe Lou was only talking about the PAC 10 since they have no chance to be national champions.

I won't matter if USC win the PAC 10 this year or not. the team that finished 2nd place in the Pac 10 get the BCS automatic bid anyway.
