per Harrington:

9. Tanner Morgan, Minnesota: No one seen him coming, but by the end of last season he became a household name in the Big Ten. Morgan led the Gophers to the most wins in a single season since 1904. The Kentucky native led the conference in passing yards per game and finished second passing touchdowns. Morgan’s 3,253 yards through the air and 30 touchdowns tosses were the most ever by a Minnesota quarterback. The former three-star prospect also earned second-team All-Big Ten. Morgan scored three or more touchdowns in six games, including four against Purdue and Northwestern.

Go Gophers!!

Two thoughts:

-- Gotta love the "no one seen him coming" to start this bullet. LOL.
-- Some interesting and fairly unproven names ahead of Morgan. Slovis, Ehlinger and Howell. I guess they put up some nice stats, but their teams didn't accomplish much. How much do a bunch of passing stats mean if you're playing from behind a bunch?

Ehlinger lost to LSU by 7 and Oklahoma by 7. Them not winning those games doesn’t fall on him. He is very good. Morgan had a great year but Ehlinger is as good or better IMO

He threw for 400 yards, 4TDs, 0 INTS, plus ran for 60 yards and a TD vs LSU. What do you want him to do?
He was less impressive vs Oklahoma but did run for 2 TDs.

That's fair. Guess we will see if he lives up to it this year.

I think there are very few sure things. Morgan isn’t a guarantee. I like watching Ehlinger. Athletic, runs around, good competitor.

Lit up a team some say is the best college team ever (hyperbole no doubt) but his ranking is justified.

I remember when we lost to NDSU at TCF back in 20011, my dad saying after the game "that guy just surgically directed us like Tom Brady."
You could also say that about most games where Robb Smith was our D-coordinator.
