Yeah I caught this live - always fun to hear the Gophers get a shoutout. I'm actually a Cowherd fan these days. I just think he provides interesting content. Yeah, he's a douchey fella, but he's really good at what he does. Everyone says driving a radio show by yourself if the hardest thing in sports media to do. All the other shows just pit 2 douche bags against each other to argue about sh*t. That's lame

I needed something to fill the void left from the SVP and Russillo show. Even after SVP left and it was Russillo's show for a few years, that was still A+ content. I think they had 2 full years with Danny Kannell on the show. There was some Adnan Virk in the mix too. Those two would have been the best - Russillo and Virk...both got canned though

Russillo does this podcast twice a week but its not as good as his stuff with the ESPN. They probably just game him superior production and resources, etc...

Anyways, I've been slowly getting into Cowherd. The clip above is pretty common stuff for him - a decent explanation of some college football.

Does anyone have any radio show recommendations? Something for someone who would download and listen to SVP and Russillo everyday

There's plenty of good reasons why Cowherd is ranked #1 by most metrics for sports talk the last several years. He's just plain the best at what he does. He hangs on to certain narratives a little longer than you would like sometimes (like banging on B. Mayfield so relentlessly) but he's crushing everyone else in his market for several years now.

I had kind of lost track of him for a few years (I mean, FS1 is like channel 777 on my cable - that will lose some people in the shuffle)

But it was his Baker Mayfield stuff that got me back into him. I saw this clip of him ragging Baker to death and I was rolling around on the floor laughing. I don't even remember what he said...I just thought it was funny
 

Minnesota HS football is underrated because there is only 1 D1 school in the state california has a handful, NDSU is a power built on minnesota recruiting, some of the best d2 and d3 football is in minnesota

Yes he talks about everyone, plugs just about everyone, and then when he's right, he says "I told you so." When wrong, he laughs and plugs the next guy as his discovery. I want his job.

He's the guy that told us 99% UConn was the next B1G team the day before it was Maryland, and followed up with "I told you it was an east coast team!" Brilliant.
