Anyone else impressed with Cobbs 12 minutes last night? I thought he looked much more comfortable and less tentative taking it to the hole. He was a sparkplug his first trip off the bench.

Very impressed with him in the first half. Made a couple bad mistakes in the second half and Tubby rightfully sat him down.

Nice to see the "flashes" though, hopefully that is a sign of good things to come.

I thought he played great defense on Hughes. He also drove past him several times, but then circled back. Had an opportunity to pull up for a 10 footer about 5 times. He did once. I was very critical on this kid, more so because of his whiner attitude - Hands in the air when a teammate misses a pass, or ref blows a call. I will chalk this up to being a freshman. Very impressed in his limited role last night. With Nolen playing his time would have been limited in the B10 season, but he could have absorbed a bit more. Throwing him into the fire has caused some early pain, but I haven't given up after seeing him last night.

Outstanding play by Cobbs last night. He is developing into a great true PG. Shout out to Devoe too for some nice looks last night

Remember that Cobbs is a freshman. He is capable of playing good defense and he can score the three, drive to the basket, and hit a the mid-range jumper. He could be very good by his junior year.
He will be inconsistent this year. Last night he was more mature and effective. Any one else notice that he plays better at the Barn.

It seems to me also that Cobbs is taking care of the ball a little better. Joseph was great last night, but late turnovers from him have really hurt the last few games.

I was very impressed with Cobbs last night. I liked his ability to get the ball inside and run the offense. I think he was better as a pure PG then Devoe was last night.

In the upper deck I couldn't see the extent of the carry calls on Joseph. Were they warranted? Hughes carries the ball all the time and was never called.

Cobbs should really improve between the NIT and next season. Does he even have 100 total minutes yet?

The scouting report.......

on Cobbs was that he defineitly has the skills and athleticism to play well at this level, but his decision making needed some development. Tubby has shown he is going to place a premium on that, so it is no wonder he has been getting rationed minutes.

With Al down however, he has no choice and I agree it is evident he is progressing nicely.

After one of the carries on Joseph, I was standing up shouting "Carry, Carry, Carry, Carry" as Hughes walked it up and carried it on every single dribble.

No-Look Pass

The pass underneath from Cobbs to DJ (I think) in the first half was awesome!

I didn't think so. I think you could make that call almost every possession by that standard. No way is that call made on Evan Turner.

Cobbs is starting to finally play within himself, and get some confidence to shoot open jumpers. Although it hasn't been a steady pace, I'm glad he's starting to find his niche out there.

However, defensively, he still has some MAJOR lapses...especially losing shooters on the wings or getting stuck on screens. He really has to pick that part of his game up, because his on the ball defense is pretty good.

I've been a proponent of Cobbs for a while, he's a true freshman adjusting to a much higher level. He'll be very good defensively and kind of reminds me of Harris or Bobby Jackson. They may have been a little faster then him, but they have similar builds. Cobbs was guarding someone from Michigan who dribbled the ball all the way across the top of the key very quickly, Cobbs was moving completely laterally and kept up step for step. I couldn't believe his lateral mobility.

If he can get his jumper going he'll be very good.
