I can't remember the source at this point since I'm on brain overload with this coaching hire, but at some point today (on KFAN, 1500 or the presser) Kill talked about how "coaching is coaching" and that good coaches can coach at any level. This topic has been debated on this board several times (every time someone throws out Mike Grant's name, for example) and I don't want to beat a dead horse (even though him saying made me start instantly slapping myself on the back).

My thought is that it says a lot about Kill and what we've been missing here. Fundamentals are important. Clock management is important. Reducing penalties, the kicking game, etc .... These are things that good coaches teach well. Brew could recruit but turned out to be all bluster on the field and I just find Kill to be terribly refreshing in that he knows that he has to develop players and coach up the talent he gets.

Despite the lack of a splash factor, if this guy can just coach the game as well as the track record indicates, I think we'll be in good shape.
