With the pressure to win and the world of rebuild every season with the portal and NIL, so coaches are throwing kids under the bus early. Bringing GPA into the equation is a bit of an odd look.

 

Honestly you're kind of a dumb ass if you can't get a 3.0 in undergrad, especially with all the resources athletes have now you don't even have to set foot in the class room anymore. If anything Will Wade should have people advising these students to take classes that all about ensure a good grade. The ones that are actually driven and know what they want to pursue will do well because they have that internal drive, motivation and direction they want to go.

Student athletes who care about their grades attend UNC.

Wade seems to be implying that there is an inverse relationship between athletic performance and academic performance. Does he have any evidence to support that?

Since he has likely never used grades as a recruiting metric or had many good students that he made strong ass offers to, he probably no data to support his assertion.

Probably right. Multiple people here wanted him to be our new coach. With that attitude I'm glad the university didn't go in that direction.
