Ha! Below is the full page ad that NIU took out in today's Chicago Tribune sports section. Well done NIU, well done. A quality, well run program that was built up in part by Coach Kill, Coach Claeys, Coach Limegrover and many of their current assistants with our Gophers.

You know things are tough when the BT's Illinois contingent are the second and third best football programs in-state.

Nice dig at Northwestern, who likes to call themselves "Chicago's Big Ten Football team."

to be fair, joe novak built that program up. kill and his staff did a great job there, but it was because of what joe novak did.

I'll be at the NIU game later this afternoon. I'm curious to see how good they are. My guess is that UNLV will not pose much of a threat.

A very good point. But remember, NIU really started to tail off towards the end of Novak's time there. Novak is analogous to Glen Mason, the difference is that Kill followed Novak immediately and built on that foundation; we had 4 Brewster years to undo everything Mase had built up.
