I'm a member of the Minnesota Football Coaches Association. I was looking for a "Big name" to come into the U and change the demeanor. I thought Leach would have been interesting and put people in the seats. Then you have guys like Edsall, Hoke, Peterson, Navy guy and many others that were considered can't miss.

Moral of this story is this...Coach Kill has an interesting job ahead of him. One in which I hope he has great success with. We have no choice but give the guy a chance. He seems very blue-collar and hard working. People want to bash Maturi and the president - fine.

In this state we have OL and DL type players. We will get an occasional WR, QB or LB. Coach Kill's staff has to continue to "coach-up" guys that aren't 5 star recruits. They say he has some good recruiting areas and finds the "unknown" athletes. He needs to continue to find those guys. In MN he needs to keep working those OL and DL, and then work like hell to keep those 4/5 star guys from going to ND, Miami or where ever.

I look forward to meeting Coach Kill and his staff.

This is a great post, but it just made me think of another question. When looking at the accomplishments of Brady Hoke and Coach Ken, how can Jerry Kill be considered much of a downgrade over those guys when looking at their respective records.

Imo, he's an upgrade over Hoke. I can see Kill taking more borderline kids from Minnesota like someone else stated last night.
