CNN.SI.com predictions

Seth Davis is no dummy, neither are you. But I am. I just do not think Indiana is ready for a National Championship.

Indiana's far from a sure thing. Let's see how the Hoosiers handle being the hunted. That's something new for their core group of players.

That, SS, is the story of our Gophers. Trust me, this board will get ugly when we lose a close game.

BTW, I was at the Barn when Bob Knight came in with his powerful Hoosiers, and we whipped 'em. His face was as red as his sweater. :)

Go Gophers!!!

It's always ugly when the Gophers lose, Doc. That goes with the territory on chat boards of any losing team.

The key is to sift through the garbage & pay no attention to the lunatic fringe (on both ends).

I have learned that, except when a drunken lunatic disgustingly insults one of our precious team members.

Listen, SS, I love our Gophers, and when a GH'er personally insults one of our guys or gals here on the GopherHole, to be honest, it pisses me off.

And when I express that pissed off attitude here, I catch holy hell.

ESPN Insider has an experts pick with commentary - of course my runaway personal favorite is Miles Simon's, as he picked three of the teams I chose plus OSU. Every ESPN insider picked at least one B1G team to the F4, and four different teams were chosen (none being UW or the Gophers) so it would be a major disappointment of no B1G teams make it this year.

Bilas - UL, IU, UK, KU
Fraschilla - UL, IU, KU, UF
Greenberg - MSU, Zags, KU, UL
Lunardi - UL, UF, Mich, Zags
Simon - IU, UL, Zona, OSU

I picked UL, IU, Zona and NC State. But upon further review of the NC State roster, they aren't as deep or talented as I had expected so I will stick with them but I wouldn't be surprised if they didn't make it.

MSU FF? Not seeing it. Anyone else think that the top BT teams are overrated?

Not directed at you Doc, if that's what you thought. I like the fact you abstain from ripping players.

Well the Big Ten sure isn't too hot in football right now, better kick some butt in basketball to get some respectability.

I kinda agree. I think the B1G is unquestionably the deepest and most talented conference in the country. However, I just don't see the fortunes in the tourney changing. I think Indy has the best chance at making it to the FF and I'm very skeptical of making that pick.

My picks:

NC State: I think the most talented team in the country is NC State. They have 3 legit future pros, 2 of which have good experience. Brown, Leslie, and Purvis make the best trio in the country IMO. Plus they return 2 other players that averaged more than 10 pts/game in Scott Wood and Richard Howell. Talent wins and Gottfried is a good enough coach to make this a special team

Louisville: Pretty easy pick IMO. Lots of depth, senior PG, awesome frontcourt play. I think they're the safest pick for the FF.

Florida: Boyton, Young, Rosario, and Murphy. Lots of good upperclassmen on this team. I think they'll be the best team in the SEC this year as I consider Kentucky's new freshman class a bit overrated. There's no Anthony Davis or Kidd-Gilchrist on the bunch.

UNLV: My sleeper team. I read somewhere that it'll be more common that a mid-major makes the FF than not over the next decade. The Runnin' Rebs are my pick.
