Here are the potential top three candidates for Big Ten Coach of the Year:

1. P.J. Fleck, Minnesota

Key wins: Nebraska

In their 125 previous seasons, the Golden Gophers have reached the 10-win mark once, in 2003. Fleck has his team in position to accomplish that feat again if it can get through what will be a tough four-game stretch to close out the season. Three of its games include ranked opponents that will be looking to solidify a spot in the Big Ten Championship. Minnesota is undefeated, but it’s also had a favorable schedule to this point.

If Fleck can somehow guide this team to Indianapolis after being picked to finish sixth in the Big Ten West, he’s probably the runaway winner this season.

Go Gophers!!

I agree. PJ Fleck is number one with a bullet and it's not even that close right now. That could change if disaster strikes the last 4 games.
He lists James Franklin at Penn St. and Ryan Day at Ohio St but don't count out Tom Allen from Indiana which is 6-2 and soon to be 7-2 after this weekend.

When we win the west he'll get coach of the year.

Tom Allen and possible Lovie Smith if they manage to win out. I'm glad. Lovie will be around for years to come.
