Chris, there are numerous 3 star recruits on Scout?
 

When talking about the recruiting class ranking he goes with the scout rank of 62, but on rivals theyre currently 40. Also have several 3stars on both sites, how'd you miss that?
 

I was blurry-eyed writing that at 2:00 in the morning. Lack of sleep will do it to you every time.

The problem is that it is not a slight error. This is an integral part of the article that is flat-out wrong. People take this as news and use it to form opinions. Just look at how many posts there have been here about recruiting rankings, stars, etc. People take it seriously.

Chris works hard and provides a lot of good information, but if you can't get it right because you are tired, wait until the next day and proofread/check sources. I'm guessing that people can wait until morning for their recruiting info.

A casual fan would have come away with a negative view. Lucky that most people that read those articles actually go out of their way to read about the Gophers and are pretty up to date on what is going on.
 

I hope his degree wasn't from the U, doesn't reflect well on the journalism program when you have glaring errors and sloppy excuses.
 

Lay off Chris Monter. He does a hell of a good job. If you commentors are perfect, then you can criticize.
 




It would be nice if it could be edited though...and we're 58th now, shooting past IU and NU LOL

I wonder how coach Kill would have handled this. I expect he would have made it a teaching moment. That is why he is a great coach and the rest of us are not.
 


You should only criticize if you're perfect, this is why the media never criticizes anyone.

Integral part of the article? It is 3rd line from the bottom in the 'notes' section, not the thesis statement.

Are there a lot of folks quoting any other part of the article? People are going to boil things down as much as possible. A good rule of thumb for today's journalists is to not screw up bullet points (or things that could be made into bullet points).
