The Rivals teaser says he was down to Southern Miss and Minnesota. My guess is he wanted to stay closer to home.
 


The weather and the distance were the main factors. Interesting though the he is the 7th WR committ for the Golden Eagles.

It almost seems like Fedora uses 7 receivers in some formations. LOL. He probably would if you could have that many eligible receivers on the field at a time.
 


Do they have like no returning receivers or something? LOL 7 in one class seems insane. Or are they moving a few of them most likely?
 

Rivals shows him as the 5th WR and they also have 2 Ath. so I assume some will be playing other postitions.
 

We missed out on pretty much all of the top guys left on our board at the end of the year. Carter, Carrington, Briggs, and most likely cortez johnson and Estime, etc. Too Bad.
 




It really seems like Kill is trying pretty hard to get a tall redzone target type of WR. I wonder, if all else fails, if Veldman will get a late offer.
 

We've targeted a lot of southern kids here late in the game. I'm sure bringing them to campus in January during a year where we've had insane amounts of snow is a tough sell. I think he'll do fine when he can bring kids here in Sept/Oct. He went after Montgomerey and Gardener when he got here, 2 kids that had visited during Sept, and got both of them to reconsider the Gophs and ultimately sign.

A quick review of there roster reveals underclassman of 10 WR, 3 TE, and 15 unclassified athletes (you can never have enough depth at ATH Spot :)). If they kept them all that would mean close to 25% of the roster is dedicated to receivers (assuming that all ATH play the other spots on the field).

My suspicions is they're just taking advantage of their ability to oversign...why not bring a guy in and evaluate in a much more controlled setting.

Sucks for us though.
 

IMHO, why not get a two-fer and offer a scholie to Maddy given that VT only offered Estime? We lost Jew-Jew and can sure use DT. It sounds like the Carter/Jacques deal with two kids wanting to go together into an unfamiliar place.
