Though (Tang) started five of the first nine games this season and will leave school in good academic standing, the junior college transfer could not fit into the mold coach Tod Kowalczyk expects both in school and on the floor.
"We demand responsibility and accountability," Kowalczyk said. "I think he struggled with that. Because of that, it's his decision."
"To be a good teammate and a good guy, you have to conform to those things," Kowalczyk said. "He struggled with it. I think he was overwhelmed. He wasn't playing very well, and because of that, he was struggling in that area. More than anything, it was him dealing with accountability and responsibility."
Things must have really gotten tense for a coach to step outside normal "coach speak."
