per Chip:

The accumulation of disappointment over the years — NCAA violations, misdeeds, awful hires, heartbreaking defeats — has created this perception that the U can’t get out of its own way

This storm eventually will pass. Unfortunately, Gophers fans have been put in this position too many times.

Even when things look optimistic, some are always waiting for a new crisis or embarrassment to come along and spoil it. They’ve been conditioned to it.

They deserve a different narrative.

Yawn.. Seriously? This is a weak pay for letter commentary.

Go Gophers!!

No story here. The U along with 50 other Major College programs dealing with athletic department problems. How about the little problem Ohio State had a couple of years ago. Michigan having to bad hires in football recently. All the problems the Florida schools keep having. Just a few examples. Chip just was hard up for a story.

This scandal isn't over yet by a long shot. The big unanswered question is what Kaler knew and when did he know it. The several months long investigation will tell the story. Meanwhile, will Kill get his practice facility started this year or not? We still don't know the answer to that question. The Board of Regents will let us know after they check with the Governor and the State Legislature.

As I noted in another Thread - Dean Johnson from the Board of Regents was on with Sid on Sunday. Said he expects work to begin this fall on facilities project - but the issue over what to do with the track complex is the remaining hang-up. Johnson said the Regents could vote to proceed with the project at their September meeting, but if they don't have the track issue settled, they might not take action until the October meeting. Johnson still said he expects ground-breaking this fall.

The big unanswered question has already been answered. We know from the Regent on WCCO yesterday, that the practice facility will get started this year. What do the Governor and Legislature have to do with this? Don't be so dramatic.

All the information about the scandal is not out yet and one Regent's opinion doesn't make a majority.
