Chip Scoggins Column: For Gophers AD, inroads made but heavy lifting remains

I'll tell you what, after 1 year I trust Teague a hell of a lot more then I ever trusted Maturi. Teague wants us to play in the big leagues, which is where most of us want to be. He's not been afraid to make decisions, unlike Maturi. I think our future will be quite a bit better than our past...

Maturi was a bean counter. Nothing more nothing less. No focus no vision.

19, Maturi was the good soldier who followed his marching orders. I believe the prevailing vision is to remain in the B1G, nothing more nothing less.

It sounds like you have insider information because what you're saying is different from the official story down there. Please share.

They say they want to be major players in the conference, but you think they'll be content to not get kicked out of the conference. That's quite a difference. Take ownership of the crap you throw out there.

I stand behind my original post. That is my belief, prove me wrong. Do you have anything specific?

If our only goal is simply to remain in the B1G, than I will never support this university again. Seriously, remain in the B1G, nothing more nothing less. Who would ever think like that? That, to me, is the definition of a losers mentality and I don't think anyone at the U feels that way. If they do why are they here?

It's not my place to tell you, and you wouldn't believe me anyway. On the football side of the house, read Norwood Teague and Title IX for a tiny glimpse of the 50 year war. Pay particular attention where the x-volleyball coach states the problem is not managing the football roster. In other words, why the hell do we need 85 football scholarships?

Do we really want to be a major player in the B1G?

On the football side of the house, go back 9 pages to Gophers Problems are not Institutional and read the post by husker70.

Other than what the AD proclaims? Why would he misrepresent their vision and ambition? That's why I'm asking for your insider information about Teague not being serious about what he's saying.

Where did I say he wasn't serious about what he was saying? He's dead serious and I stand behind my original post. Talking a good game doesn't make you a major player in the B1G. Would it be easier if I translated this into Klingon for you?

I don't know if Klingon would be more or less comprehensible than contradictory uneducated speculation.
