Just in case the Gophers end up in Orlando (which is beginning to sound unlikely, according to reports there), they'd be playing Florida State. The ACC bowl chips started falling into place today...

Peach: Georgia Tech
Gator: Clemson
Champs: Florida State
Meineke: North Carolina
Music City: Boston College/Virginia Tech loser (ouch, quite the fall - thank Clemson for that)

Miami, Wake Forest, Maryland and NC State are the remaining bowl-eligible teams in the ACC, and per NCAA rules, 6-6 NC State cannot jump the three 7-5 teams. The Emerald will probably take Miami since Maryland was there last year. The Humanitarian gets the next choice, but is pushing hard to convince Ball State to go to Boise for a matchup of undefeated BSU's (assuming Ball State beats Buffalo in the MAC Championship). If that happens, the ACC would be guaranteed a spot in a bowl that did not have its conference tie-in filled. The new game in D.C., the EagleBank Bowl, wants Maryland, but UM's exam schedule would prevent them from going to that game, and Wake and Navy already played this season, leaving it to NC State and sending Wake and Maryland to at-large games elsewhere.
