Charley Pride, a country music Black superstar, dies at 86

NEW YORK (AP) — Charley Pride, one of country music’s first Black superstar whose rich baritone on such hits as “Kiss an Angel Good Morning” helped sell millions of records and made him the first Black member of the Country Music Hall of Fame, has died.

RIP to one of my dad's favorite singers.

RIP. A lot of great memories hearing his records around the house as a kid. A few years back I saw that he was playing the casino in Morton during December. He was into his 80's and still playing the sticks in the dead of winter. I think his voice held up really well too.
