per Ann Arbor News:

Chad Carr is going to be one of the big boys Saturday.

The 4-year-old grandson of University of Michigan coaching legend Lloyd Carr will join the U-M football team on Saturday, Sept. 27, as an honorary captain. He'll take the field for the coin toss before the team squares off against Minnesota Golden Gophers at 3:30 p.m.

Earlier this week, Chad Carr was diagnosed with an inoperable, malignant brain tumor. His mother Tammi Carr said Chad would soon begin a six-week round of radiation, but doctors said the rate of survival for this type of brain tumor isn't very high.

Several players visited the Carr family at Mott Children's Hospital in Ann Arbor before Chad Carr checked out on his birthday Friday afternoon.

Dave Ablauf, spokesman for the U-M athletic department, said that the entire Wolverine family is rallying behind the Carrs.

"We're really thinking about the Carrs and praying for Chad and the family. We want to provide them with support. We're definitely praying and hoping for that miracle that we know can happen," he said.

Best. Wishes to the young one as we bring the JUG home.

jesus.

Good luck to Chad. Gophers have lost a lot (A LOT) over the years. Tomorrow we will win and still think of the Carrs.

Always wanted to beat Michigan, but never had any kind of problem with Lloyd Carr. The man seemed to at least have a good amount of respect for the what the MN-MI rivalry was, and did his best to keep that relevance moving forward.

All the best to his grandson and his whole family.
