Not sure what they're smoking, or if this is a pity pick. And the clowns at CFN are hardly prognosticating gurus. According to Sportacular on my iPhone (a must for any gambling degenerate) we're 5 pt dogs.

CFN does make one good point. PU is very beatable, largely due to injuries. If there was ever a game for Weber to nut up and show off those 4 years of experience, this is it. That Kerrigan guy is a monster, though. It'll be on our OL to keep Weber from getting dogpiled.

I think it is a very good pick. I think the Gophers will play pretty well on Saturday in "Boilermaker-Land."

I'll believe it when I hear Dave Lee tell me all about it.

Fargo Flash also said Gophers will win this weekend, due to the experience of the longest tenured active quarterback in the NCAA. Flash also said we would beat South Dakota.

According to weather.com it will be 72 degrees and sunny with a chance of Gopher Nation Domination. Rah!

We have a shot. 2-10 is a lot more appealing than 1-11. Sort of like bread and water is better than just water. If you have no bread, a dried up crust of bread looks pretty good.

I expect some wins to muddy the firing waters. That is the MN mystery- nothing is ever black and white.

Was that a pick to win or a pick to cover? Cause I think the gophers are almost a lock to cover.

Hope so. This and Penn State are our two best shots. But I think the latter, at home, is a more likely win. I have the feeling Purdue will be primed for us - so Weber would have to have his game of the year to win.

They are beatable but a lot of things would have to go our way. If we play inspired for the whole game we have a chance. We need to play with a chip on our shoulder and use things like the 2pt conversion to inspire us to prove to everyone we are not a bunch of losers.

I think the Gophers will actually win this week. I just hope I don't have to read 50 posts here afterwards about how 'maybe Brew needs another year afterall.' That will ruin my enjoyment of the win. Thanks in advance.

Would it help if a few people fired up those posts BEFORE the game instead of afterwards?

If you actually believe it, sure. At least your belief will be based on something (though I'd question what) other then irrational giddyness from winning one Big Ten game over a bad team.

Don't get me wrong, I wasn't volunteering. Just throwing it out there, thought it was actually kind of funny.

The sad thing is, if they happen to win, what will we see more of:

> number of posts saying that Brewster is doing a good job, give him a second chance, OR

> number of posts belittling our opponent, Purdue sucks, a team the Gophers should beat anyway, the win means nothing, etc.

At any rate, it's a problem I hope we'll have after Saturday's game.
