Yep, it’s way too early to be thinking about this, for many reasons. Yep, I’m aware of what’s happening in the world. I’m still going to post this, because, well, it’s out there, and I can, and I’m trying to be hopeful.

TransPerfect Music City Bowl
Date Coming
ESPN
Nissan Stadium, Nashville, TN
Big Ten vs. SEC
Spring Projection: Minnesota vs. Kentucky
Last Season: Louisville 38, Mississippi State 28

By the way, their playoff teams are not surprising - Ohio State vs. Georgia in the Rose Bowl, and Clemson vs. Alabama in the Sugar Bowl.

Has anyone considered that the way states handle coronavirus might impact the coming season? The South is going to get mollywhopped by this soon because the region has barely taken action and leaves things in "God's hands" it seems. It's also going to run rampant through the least healthy states with the poorest safety nets.

States like Minnesota have coronavirus well under control at this moment. Even if the numbers don't say the North is beating the South at this, wait a couple weeks.

Everything I’ve read says that means it’ll take longer to run its course here

Correct. And we Don’t have any idea how under control it is because we can’t test everyone who may possibly be positive because we don’t have enough available tests

True, but based on the number of people who have been hospitalized we have a pretty good sense that we are doing a solid job as a State of flattening the curve and all that.

To the topic at hand, clearly CFN or at least this writer does not have high hopes for us to be able to repeat something close to last season's performance. Would bet our preseason bowl projections are going to be all over the map as some will believe we are legit and others will think we were a flash in the pan and likely to drop back some.

Of course in the grand scheme of things, bowl projections about a month away from the selection date tend to be all over the place and wrong in most cases so a bowl projection in March/April is just tossing names on a board for the most part and hoping you get a couple right so that when the actual selections come you can say "see...I called it back in March" :)

This is a hilarious read. The major issues right now in Nashville have been the Nursing homes which is a large percentage of the cases. We have had the bars closed for weeks now which is what all the tourism comes for which has helped slow inbound transmission to the city and Vandy was the 2nd school to send kids home in the USA. I think the city has been pretty good about getting out ahead of this. I know you think we are all bible bangers but Churches have been closed as well.

just generalizing and obviously not my post, but would imagine the op is not referring to the large cities (which are generally more progressive) but the large swaths of rural folks. Same could probably be said of many parts of rural MN and ND
