per CBS:

Less than a week ago, Landon Young, a four-star offensive tackle who considered signing with Ohio State before opting to go with Kentucky in February, opened up about his experience visiting Ohio State. In short, Young wasn't impressed.

"I was at Ohio State having a private meeting with Urban Meyer. I had gone up to camp there, and they had treated me like a piece of meat, just treated me like crap," Young told SEC Country, adding that Meyer called him "an insubstantial player with insubstantial offers from an insubstantial school" (that school being Kentucky).

On Tuesday, Meyer responded. Here's what he said about Young's comments, per Cleveland.com:

"Sure I can (comment), they're signed," Meyer said. "I did read it. We had a lot of respect for him as a player. A lot. I was very disappointed in our staff that we didn't offer him earlier.

"About treating him bad, we don't do that on purpose. If that's his feelings. I went back and talked to our staff about it, because I don't want that to be out there.

"But when you have one out of 650 that say someone is treated bad, you know? We didn't offer him earlier, but we did want to offer him. Afterward, he really grew on me. He's a great player and I think we missed on him early on, and I was very upset with our coaching staff, the recruiter and that area and the position coach.

"That's the way we do our business here. We do address that. I don't want that out there."

So, Meyer didn't really address if Young's claims were true.

Go Gophers!!

SECcountry.com might have embellished this story a tad.

"What I wanted to clear up is I have nothing bad against Urban Meyer or Ohio State's staff," Young told The Columbus Dispatch. "They treated me with respect. They treated me like a king when I was up there.

"Everyone seems to think that he [Meyer] treated me like crap, and he didn't."

More from the ESPN article:

Young told the Dispatch he was just sharing an anecdote about his interaction with Meyer.

"When they asked me an honest question, I gave them an honest answer and said I thought it was funny [Meyer] was so frank and up-front with me. And that's it," Young said.

I think Meyer should just own it here, nothing wrong with seeing how it kid will respond when you tell him his **** still stinks

From the articles I read I didn't think anyone did anything wrong.

Maybe he misevaluated a recruit, but ... gonna do that.
