I'll take it. Doesn't this guy usually hate on us?

I believe he had us dead last prior to last season... I usually like Rothstein, but was pretty pissed last year at him.

EDIT: Link from prediction prior to last year (hating on us) - http://www.cbssports.com/collegebas...ege-basketball-preview-conference-predictions
Link from May saying we'll be contenders in the Big Ten this year (opposite of hating on us) - http://www.cbssports.com/collegebas...-minnesota-will-be-in-big-ten-mix-next-season

What's the deal with OSU this year? They were a pretty flawed team last year and lost Craft and Ross. I know they have a good class coming in but 2nd seems a little high right? OSUfan?

Their 2014 recruiting class is absolutely stacked!!

Plus they have Scott, Williams & Sam Thompson all coming back... Not sure if they have any transfers that can play or not this year, but that alone is a pretty good team!

Agree with the order of his top 3. From #4 on is a total crapshoot.

I can't see Michigan finishing 7th, despite their personnel losses. Beilein too good of a coach, and there's still talent coming back. Michigan now one of the select Big Ten schools (MSU, OSU, Wis the others) you can pretty much pencil in toward the top every season.

I think Michigan St. is the overrated team this year and should be swapped with Michigan in these rankings.

Michigan St. loses Harris, Payne, Appling and has had two lackluster recruiting classes in a row by Izzo standards. Not sure where all the scoring will come from.

OSU also gets temple transfer Anthony Lee who was a 13 and 8 guy last year.

Isn't Russell academically in hot water?

Google Search Says yes.

Looks like a Jeff Jones type situation for OSU and Russell

They got a Transfer from Temple this year to play as well. Anthony Lee per that link.

Is Scott really their only PG (I only looked at their classes on the ESPN recruiting link)? Do they have some combo guards that can also play PG? We all know how much trouble it can be only having one ball handler on the roster...

Will be quite surprised if either of the Michigan schools finish worse than 5th, or if either one finishes behind Nebraska. Huskers will be good, but am skeptical they'll be able to repeat a 4th-place finish.

I think they will have a classic Matta team this year, a team with a lot of talent that could win the league (and if they do, due to that talent being among the best in the league Matta won't win league COY in any case) but nobody is predicting them to win it. Craft and Ross, while good players, weren't exactly NBA talent or without their own flaws. I don't think 2nd is high necessarily for OSU because they stack up well talent-wise compared to the rest of the teams in the league, and also have an advantageous schedule with only 5 tough road games in conference play (none of which are at Wisky). For the first time in years, OSU has added more talent than they lost with 2-3 good players leaving and 4-5 newly eligible.

I agree. I think it will be very difficult for the Huskers to replicate their success last year. They had very little presence inside, and that was before Leslee Smith tore his ACL. They will be doing well just to get back to the tournament. Izzo and Beilein are both safer bets to have their team in the upper echelon of the league, although Miles is a good coach for sure his team still has some obvious flaws.

If Indiana finishes 10th, Crean will get canned, right?

I would take 5th in a heartbeat. Nebraska is overrated, they're gonna rely of Petteway way too much

Rothstein ACC preview (Louisville & Wake Forest)

In his ACC projections tweeted today, Rothstein picks Gopher opponents Louisville and Wake Forest to finish 3rd and 14th, respectively.

Go Gophers!!

Shields and Pitchford are pretty good #2 and #3 options if you ask me. They do lack an inside presence though, I could see them finishing anywhere from 2nd to around 8th.
