per CBS:
Michigan State and Michigan have been playing football against one another since 1898, but none of the 108 meetings between the rivals have come at night. If Michigan State athletic director Mark Hollis gets his way, they never will, at least not in East Lansing.
While Michigan State will be playing more night games in the future, Hollis says he'd prefer none of those games came against the Spartans in-state rival. Not because he's afraid of bucking tradition, but because he's worried about how fans will behave.
"When we sit down, our police chief, our president, our provost, myself, we all go through and ask, 'what's the impact going to be like on campus?'" Hollis told MLive.com. "Based on past behavior, I would be concerned."
