per CBS:

Penn State's football program has undergone a lot of changes in recent years, following a long period of stability under Joe Paterno. Could the next change in Happy Valley be a new stadium?

The school is considering it.

Penn State has hired an architecture firm to recommend possible improvements to all of its athletics facilities, including Beaver Stadium, in the next 10 years. Penn State athletic director Sandy Barbour isn't ruling out the possibility of an entirely new football stadium, either.

Go Gophers!!

Our next AD Phil Esten is involved :)

I can see why they'd build a new stadium. The present stadium is such a mishmash of additions and renovations I imagine it might be easier to tear it down and build a new one.

Of all the "mega stadiums" - is there one that could possibly be uglier? I can't think of one off the top of my head. Mish mash seat additions all over the place and too high of a percentage of seats in the end zones.

You know those a holes are going to name it Paterno stadium. There is zero percent it gets named something else if they build a new stadium. Gross

Naw, the school administration wants nothing to do with that. The current administration took down his statue even.

It's the Paterno family and fanatics who will push it but so far the school has stiff armed them. There are the Paterno fans, and the school, they're not one and the same anymore.

Florida's is very similar. You can tell where the different stadium additions were made to "The Swamp" and there are a lot of seats in the end zones.

As much as I love visiting Penn State, the erector set stadium is less than ideal.
