Projected Starter: Rodney Smith
Backups: Shannon Brooks, Kobe McCrary, Jonathan Femi-Cole, Zach Knox, Dominik London and Mohamed Ibrahim
Newcomers To Watch: Dominik London comes in with the vision and elusiveness to make defenders miss in the ‘phone booth.’ Mohamed Ibrahim has the ability to make defenders miss in space but also isn’t afraid to lower his shoulder and deliver a blow when working to the second level as well.
Reason For Optimism: This is the most talented position on the offensive side of the ball with the most amount of fire-power and everyone returning. Rodney and Shannon are both proven commodities at this point in the Big Ten and Kobe has flashed in his opportunities as well.
Also, the offense being carried over from Ciarrocca and staff to Minnesota has similar running game characteristics that Rodney flourished in a year ago, as we'll discuss below.
