CBS Expert Predictions: Big Ten (Gophers predicted to finish as high as 3rd in West)

I love it. Once again we're below the radar. People just don't recognize an honest man. When Kill said we were going to be bad, everyone knew it was obvious and we were. Last year when he said we would be better, no one believed him but we were. This year he says we're going to be even better again, and again no one believes him but we will be.

However, the realist in me knows we could be a better overall team and end with a like record. I certainly do like the trajectory of the team...

I think the most interesting thing about this poll is that we have the greatest range of predictions (tied with Maryland and Nebraska). Maryland's is a bit deceiving, as Solomon picked them 3rd and nobody else even picked them 4th.

I also thought Hinnen's East vs. West predictions were strange. He is totally consensus in the East, and then when he gets to the West, he makes some very controversial picks.

If I were dictator, all these preseason prognostications would necessarily include last year's article. The least accurate expert would be forced to watch Fox NFL pregame show on a loop for 48 hours.

So, I have provided last year's column for you. Enjoy. Particularly entertaining is the Legends predictions for 2013-scroll to the bottom.

I volunteer to be your campaign manager for the position of Dictator. Good news is that if successful, we will only need one campaign. Ever.

Why all the love for Iowa?

The Hinnen one would be the absolute worst. Hawkeyes the inaugural West champions. Northwestern rebounding to 3rd place. Minnnesota behind the Illini and only ahead of Purdue. Sweet lord.

So every single moron on that site had Michigan State 3rd or 4th in our half of the Big Ten. And they finished the year #3 in the country. Okay...

This is something I thought about earlier today. It's conceivable that we could win fewer games, but a much better team than last year. Ohio State and TCU are huge additions to the schedule, especially if you can beat one of them and play the other one close. When I look through the schedule, I see six games I'm confident the team can win. I see another two that are toss ups or where we might be dogs (TCU and Iowa) and four "measuring stick" games. To me, it's possible we win 7 games, yet are markedly better.

We added OSU at home, but we also dumped MSU on the road.

It's baseball Ray.
