CBS: 8th-grade wide receiver accepts USC scholarship offer

In Lane Kiffin's world, it's never too early.

USC's coach offered a scholarship to a seventh-grade quarterback in 2010, and now he's offered one to incoming high school freshman wideout Nathan Tilford.

The 6-foot-2, 190-pounder, who impressed at USC's skills camp, told NBCLosAngeles.com that he was “speechless” at the offer.

"I said yes right away,” he said. “That has been my dream school. This is where I wanted to go, and I made it here.”

ESPN: Kentucky offers a 7th grader, Jairus Brents

Kentucky offered a scholarship to seventh grader Jairus Brents on Thursday after the 13-year-old participated in a football camp at the university this past weekend.

While the offer might cause shockwaves across the college football and recruiting platforms, it is not much reason for celebration for Brents, a Class of 2018 cornerback from Indiana.

"It's not a big deal. It's just an offer," Brents said.

"It's a good accomplishment, but I'm focusing on being the best cornerback ever and working hard."
