i guess not that big of a deal, but here's an email i rec'd today:

Due to building projects around TCF Bank Stadium the RV parking area for Gopher football home games has been moved. We have a great long term solution that will lead to a positive gameday experience. The new RV parking lot is the Discovery Lot. The Discovery Lot is located 1 block east of the stadium next the Minnesota Lot. In your Parking package that will be sent will be a map that will detail the location of the Discovery lot. Your parking pass will be sent out to you today.

If you have any questions about your parking pass or other Gopher Football related items don’t hesitate to email or call me directly.

Thanks for all your support of Golden Gopher Football.

edit: my point being in 2 yrs, rv parking has gone from discovery to victory to minnesota to discovery again.

yea- I got the same email. Too bad. That MN lot seemed too good to be true. I guess it was. But if the email is correct and this is a long term solution, I can live with it.

As someone who had already paid for premium parking in the Minnesota lot, I am ecstatic about this news. I was really ticked when the parking info came and I found out that there would be RVs taking over the lot I selected. I would never have chosen that lot if they would have told me this ahead of time.

Just another example of the communication issues that still run rampant through our AD.

BTW - Why the change from last year's RV lot? Just curious.

not really sure. last year, the discovery lot was advertised for rvs. then they moved rvs to the victory lot, which was ok, except the lot wasn't paved, and got a little muddy for a couple games.
as long as the new passes are sent out in a timely matter, everything should be fine. fingers crossed.

Huh. You must have been really disappointed having all 4 or 5 RV's "taking over" your premium parking lot yesterday, then. What a nusiance that must have been for you.

I guess I'm a little confused as to why you would never have chosen that lot if you would have known RV's would be allowed to park there? What difference does it make?

Premium parking at TCF bank stadium is a joke.

Uhhhh ohhhh.

"Thank you to everyone that has called or emailed me with feedback, it has been very helpful as we decide on the placement of RV parking for Gopher football. After some discussion internally, we have decided to follow the recommendation of many of you to keep our RV parking in the Minnesota lot for the 2010 season. After talking with a few of you Saturday I can see why you all feel strongly about having the Minnesota lot as your home. At the end of the season we will decided on a more formal plan around RV parking during Gopher football games and how we can look to expand this opportunity to other Gopher fans. At this point we are committed to RV parking in the Minnesota lot for the 2010 season. After the season we will engage our campus units and you the customer to make a decision that is best for everyone involved.

Our goal as an athletic department is to help facilitate a great game day experience and all of you help contribute so much to that. We will work with Parking Services to have a more formal setup for Rv’s this coming week. Right now we will use the South side of the Minnesota lot as the RV area. Because this is a lot shared by cars we want to make sure that they continue to have a great tailgating/parking experience as well. You can continue to use the parking pass that was sent to you to park in the Minnesota Lot.

I will continue to come by pre-game to meet more of you and to make sure that the set up is allowing everyone to have a fun and safe experience.

As I said last week please continue to call or email me with any questions, comments or concerns.

Go Gophers!

What an unfortunate turn of events. Damn slack-jawed RV-driving yokels taking over your premo parking lot.

Sons of bitches...
