  • Several Big Ten teams mentioned in the 1st Preseason AP Poll, showcasing their competitiveness.
  • The Gophers face Rutgers, where Kaliakmanis previously played, adding to the matchup's intensity.
State of Play
  • The Gophers are gearing up for a challenging Week 11 game against a restructured Rutgers team.
  • Athan Kaliakmanis' transition and performance at Rutgers will be crucial to monitor.
What's Next
Fans should prepare for strategic insights as the Gophers finalize game plans leading up to the encounter with the Scarlet Knights. Observing how the Gophers adapt to Khalikmanis' familiarity with their gameplay could impact their strategy.

Bottom Line
The Gophers face a pivotal opportunity to challenge a known opponent, and how they leverage their understanding of Kaliakmanis will be key to disrupting Rutgers' game plan.

Go Gophers!!

This game will have so many storylines. Athan and Kirk will be dialed in. But so will Fleck.

This AI stuff is so bad.

Hey, guys. It ain’t working. So, soo bad which is really something considering the state of sports journalism over the last 20 years.

Nvidia. Nvidia chips power AI “brains” and their simulagents. Maybe unrelated to Nvidia but in the early 80s there was a cult hit anime series featuring hive-mind Invid space invaders. After defeating the humans and mecha of the Army of the Southern cross and settling most of Earth they set about designing human replicants to help infiltrate the remaining ragtag human resistance forces. Only the arrival of the Robotech Expeditionary Force, returning from defeating the evil Zentraedi during the second Robotech War, allowed the remaining defenders to defeat the Invid and their green-blooded replicants. Maybe a cautionary tale in there. Maybe not.

The Gophers have never lost to Rutgers in football and won the last two meetings by an average of 33 points per game. They are (maybe) using our hand-me-down QB and if not someone rated even worse than AK. I guess if it helps put a crack on shoulders we'll own it but upset is a stretch.

Potentially losing to Kaliakmanis is the most “Minnesota” thing I have heard since Jackson and Taylor were injured in the preseason.
Haven't most of those predictions been coming from outside of the state though?

I’m just saying it is very “Minnesota”to have a departed player get his vengeance regardless if the team is the Gophers/Vikings/Twolves/Twins/Wild, etc.

Caught the end of one of the gambling shows on ESPN and Greg McElroy had Rutgers as a surprise team in the B1G to bet the over on. "They have an easier schedule and a QB with B1G experience." They avoid the top four teams in the conference and have 5 conference home games.

Agree the schedule is easier, but when Athan transferred, they had a QB with B1G experience on the roster.
