Cal RB Jahvid Best

I am not sure we can beat them if he is healthy, but I am glad this game is at home. A treat to see National Title sleeper at home.

He did nothing against USC, but they had 3 first round pics that were LBs.

Truly a speed merchant

This guy is a true speed merchant... I saw a Cal game last year and he had "video game" acceleration. Flat out the fastest guy on the field, bar none.

I'm scared about this game for Jahvid Best alone!

10.31 100m run. That's real fast, anyone know if we have anything that can compete with that?

he's gonna get his yards, but the gophers have a chance of slowing him down.

if reeves and cooper are ready to play and show that they have good LB instincts i think that we could be stout.

with brown and small up the middle and campbell playing mike (campbell is best around the line of scrimmage) running up the middle might give best some problems.

the question marks will be on the outside. if cooper and reeves are ready, then having speed at the edges (lawrence, cooper/reeves) could make his life difficult outside.

i'm not saying that we keep him to double digits, but we could force the QB to make more plays than he is ready to make.

I think if BPT and co can lock up their recievers we should be able to bring in some safety help to slow him down. Like BTC said, if lawrence and cooper can contain outside I think we should be ok. That said, this guy is faster than anyone we'll see in the big ten. I'm really looking forward to this game though, it's nice to get some quality OOC opponents.

Well, I would suggest that Brew get a flight to Jamaica, pronto. I hear tell they've got some pretty fast kids down there. There's this one in particular, a little-known figure named Usain Bolt, that I think would be dynamite in our deep passing game.

Cal backup runningback Shane Vereen is no slouch himself, he rushed for over 740 yards and caught another 27 balls.

might have to remember the...

Renaldo Neimimah factor. Fast as hell, got open deep and could not catch a cold.
