Wednesday Results
#36 Southern Miss beats UTEP (not a needle mover)
#43 Iowa State wins @ #61 Baylor (huge road win by Cyclones completes season sweep)
#45 Boise State beats Air Force (top-100 win for team needing quality wins)
#57 Saint John's beats USF (easy to pull for Steve Lavin)
#58 UMass loses @ Saint Bonaventure (Minutemen now on life support)
#59 Alabama beats Mississippi State (avoided bad loss)
#69 Arizona State beats Wazzu (see Alabama)
#74 Ohio beats Eastern Michigan (see Alabama & Arizona State)
#84 Providence loses @ Syracuse (Friars' bubble status was short-lived)
#89 Xavier wins @ Rhode Island (Musketeers' 5 remaining opponents all have RPI of 60 or better)

Thursday Slate
LaSalle @ #49 Temple (game equally important for LaSalle, which moves closer to "lock" status with a quality road win)
#60 BYU @ #51 Saint Mary's (both in desperate need of a quality win)
#53 Cal @ Oregon (win tonight and Golden Bears have golden chance to run the table)
#73 Stanford @ Oregon State (Cardinal out of sight & out of mind with a loss tonight)
Georgia @ #80 Arkansas (Hogs' problem isn't winning at home)

Serious question SS: if we drop to 6-9 next Tuesday, do we start appearing in this list? Also, does it matter if we look competitive or look like we did last night?

I re-configure my bubble list every Monday. The Gophers will be on it for the first time next week.

The Selection Committee looks at so many things, my guess would be, yes, absolutely they'll notice what's happening with each and every (bubble) team. There's really no other way to put it. ... the Gophers' resume says they should be in the tournament, but their on-court performance late in the season is giving the SC more than enough reason to keep them out.

Putting next week in layman's terms, if the Gophers are 7-9 after the Penn State game (not the sure thing I thought a few days ago), I'll still have them in the field the following Monday. Assuming the Gophers beat Penn State (gulp), it's the Nebraska-Purdue road trip that will decide their fate.
