Wednesday's Results
Auburn 89, Mississippi State 80
Memphis 70, UAB 65
Notre Dame 58, UConn 50
Rhode Island 80, Charlotte 58
San Diego State 68, Colorado State 55
Temple 57, Saint Louis 51
Virginia Tech 71, NC State 59

Thursday's Slate
#41 Dayton at Richmond, 6 p.m. (CBS College Sports)
#63 Seton Hall at Rutgers, 6 p.m. (ESPN)
USC at #54 Arizona State, 7:30 p.m. (FSN)
#55 Washington at Oregon, 9 p.m.
LSU at #56 Ole Miss, 8 p.m. (ESPN)

The Skinny: Charlotte and Saint Louis now entirely off the at-large board after losses last night. UAB suffers a critical but not quite fatal home loss to Memphis. ... A win @ Richmond tonight would go a long way in securing an at-large bid for Dayton.

A Joe Lunardi Head-Scratcher: As of this morning, Joe Lunardi has Memphis as one of his first 4 teams out. Huh? Can't figure that one out. The Tigers have 2 top-50 wins, both vs. UAB. Their next best win is over Summit League regular-season champion Oakland (#57). That means Memphis has zero wins over teams sure to make the Field of 65. If you want evidence that this year's bubble is Charmin soft, there it is in black & white.

Thursday's Conference Tournaments
Atlantic Sun (two quarterfinals)
Big South (semifinals)
Missouri Valley (1st round)
Northeast (quarterfinals)

I'm not going there I promise SS :)

One more time - for the Gophers to even get consideration they would have to make it to the B10 semi's and to have a decent shot they would need to get to the finals?

In any such unthinkable ( at this point ) scenario Illinois would still have to crap out right because it wouldn't seem in any way possible that the Big 10 would get six right?

Teams get bids, not conferences. There are many, many other bubble teams in addition to Illinois.

If it makes you feel better, Lunardi still has Minnesota as one of his "next 4 out", meaning he has the Gophers within 8 spots of the cut line.

Let's beat Iowa.

I was invested when I thought these guys had a serious chance. I'm not getting sucked in again. A part of me is actually relieved I won't be able to watch the first B10 tourney game in Florida. I'll keep an eye on the Yahoo or ESPN game tracker but Michigan was just too much for me.

That is pretty unbelievable. Need semis for consideration and the finals for a pretty good shot (I would think).

The fact that Memphis is even in the discussion shows how weak this year's bubble is.

What I don't get is SINCE the Michigan loss we've picked up two more seedings on the bracketology101 website.

How does that work?

I think they have bad delays in how quickly they pick up the postings, and/or some of the participants don't update regularly. I'd bet none of the ones we picked up were actually done since Tuesday.
