per BTN:

5. Minnesota. The Golden Gophers were one of three 5-7 teams in the postseason. But Minnesota justified its postseason trip with a methodical 21-14 victory vs. Central Michigan in the Quick Lane Bowl. It was a nice win for freshly minted head coach Tracy Claeys, who saw quarterback Mitch Leidner run 13 yards for a touchdown with 4:26 remaining, and then saw the defense hold on with a late interception. Best of all, former coach Jerry Kill was on hand to witness the win.

Go Gophers!!

Iowa ahead of Michigan State? At least Sparty didn't get their doors blown off until midway through the 3rd quarter. Iowa's wheels came off at the get-go.

Agreed.

Is the Gopher win really "methodical" if they had to come from behind late?

Probably would have put MSU ahead of Iowa and PSU ahead of Indiana but other than that list seems pretty accurate. Unfortuanate for the conference that both MSU and Iowa laid massive eggs. No shame in losing to Stanford and Alabama but both teams looked outmatched for much of those games.

Perhaps he means .... "not explosive".... really though the Gophers had the game in hand most of the time.
