Minnesota is the best Big Ten team without a league victory?

Buy. Rutgers, Michigan State and Illinois join the Golden Gophers among Big Ten squads without a conference triumph. But Minnesota is best. Its two league defeats have been heartbreakers, falling 29-26 in overtime at Penn State and 14-7 last week at home to Iowa. The Gophers aren’t far from being on top of the West standings. And the schedule remains favorable. The big key for Minnesota is getting more offensive balance. And that means amping up a passing game that can be inconsistent and sporadic with a 56 percent completion percentage and a league-low five TD tosses.

And yet it feels so far away...

What is going to suck is that even if we reel off a bunch of wins here over teams that frankly we should be able to beat we are going to be looking at this season as one of those "what might have been" kind of years most likely.

Lots of season left to turn things around but agree with you that right now contending in the West feels more like a pipe dream then something that could realistically happen this season.

At this point I'd be happy with a "what might have been"... Wins and losses we might be able to make it close, but as far as quality play goes we're a long long ways away I think.

I'll be semi impressed if they can turn it around.

If we beat nebby & becky, this season will be memorable...

I can't imagine... but if it did we'd have the ultimate trump card for any folks worried about the start of a season...

Becky is the second best team in the B1G. I'd be surprised if we can keep it a 2 touchdown loss.

It's like being the tallest midget. Wooooohooooo!

I think the more pertinent question is how do we stack up against other 0-2 P5s?
