I watched the Gophers segment on Final Countdown last night. There has been a lot of discussion on this board about how and why recognition of the Gophers has been slow. I don't necessarily think that has been unfair, it takes a long time to reverse perception, and as Northwestern as shown us, a little bit of success doesn't mean a team has turned a corner. However, the tone of the narrative of the Gopher wins has changed considerable. After the Nebraska win, people seemed to be wanting to know what could be wrong with Nebraska that they would lose to us. Last night on Final Countdown, it looked like they were starting to believe that we were a pretty good team and talking about what the Gophers were doing right to win these games (rather than what our opponents were doing wrong).
