Brent Yarina: Minnesota. This is the Big Ten’s most underrated uniform. While the team may have a few too many combinations for the old-school fan, it’s hard to argue that Nike didn’t get it right with this 2012 redesign. My personal favorites? The all-white road and the this home alternate. Get rid of the thick collar design, a Nike staple, and this design is right up with Michigan and Penn State.

cant argue with yarina on this one. In his tweet, i seriously couldnt tell which was nebraska and which one was wiskydik. I knew they were similar but yikes. The only two differences are the stripes down the middle of the helmet for the ****heads and the arm band striping is slightly different. Its just oh sooooooo boring. I think the redesign was much needed and i definitely think it has given us more of a brand. I hope that they stay for a long time!

favorite combos: (warning humble opinion)

Home 1 : Maroon over gold
Home 2 : All Maroon
Home 3 : Gold over whatever

Away 1 : White over gold
Away 2 : All white
 

I'm not a big fan of Nike's collar design also. The V in front seems to hang lower than other uniform designs and can give opposing defenders an advantage in tackling. It would be easier to get their hands inside of the jersey to bring down a ball carrier.
 

I like the white over maroon on the road. My favorite home is Maroon over white if they're wearing the white helmets, other than that I like them all except for the all gold
 

I agree the collar sucks.

Throw away the white pants and gold jerseys.
 


How can you really judge/rate a teams uniforms when they have 9 COMBINATIONS.
 

If they only wore:

-Maroon over Gold
-White over Gold
-White over Maroon

Then they'd be the best uniforms. Unfortunately the other combos drag it down. Worst was the Maroon over White worn against Penn State.

I could go with that. Gold/gold is the worst though.

I would go a step further to White over Gold on the road, and Maroon over Gold at home. KISS.
 

I've come around a bit and actually like all of the combinations except the white on white.
I just hope we continue to wear the school colors ONLY (I include white in this as well as black shoes).
The day we don black jerseys or pants might be the day I stop watching and cancel my season tickets.

Maroon jersey with gold lettering, white pants, white helmet with maroon stripe down the middle and number on the sides, black socks, black cleats. Not even debatable. So classic, clean and old school looking. Best looking uniform EVA in the history of college football. Yep, I said it. :)

I am a big fan of Gold over Maroon with the Maroon helmet, and I would be fine with a switch to that as the primary home combo (if we had one).

But whenever the team breaks out the Maroon over Gold look - it always looks really sharp. The maroon jersey is more intimidating and is a bolder statement. The gold pants provide a great contrast. I think the team needs to move away from the unitard looks. No more solid maroon, or gold, or white. It is just boring. It is becoming a novelty to see the "classic" (in the internet era?) uni combo. I can't even remember if they wore it once last year.

We have two school colors. It is time we showed them off.
 

Get rid of the white pants, maroon pants, and gold jerseys. Every home game should be maroon jersey/gold pants. Every road game should be white jersey/gold pants. Gold pants every game, no exceptions.

The white and maroon pants are awful, they don't look like the "Golden Gophers" at all when wearing those.

I agree Gold over Maroon is the best combo.

Gold/gold needs to go
White with Maroon is fine

Maroon/Maroon is good as a 2nd home choice

+1. I actually do not like the gold jerseys at all, and I don't think any combination of the maroon and yellow(gold) work.
 

I don't get why people like white over gold. Looks too much like Michigan IMO.

Maroon & gold is best (either combo). But I do like maroon over white for a throwback look.

Away uniforms at my high school: Plain white helmet with a single maroon stripe down the middle. Nothing else. White jersey with maroon numbers on front and back. Plain sleeves, no name on front or back. Plain all white pants.

Because our colors are maroon and gold. You can't wear the same jersey home and away, but you can wear the same pants. Actually they look more like USC.

Gold pants (maroon or white jersey) and Maroon helmets.

BTW Michigan has superb uniforms and they don't keep changing every week. They do have their alternate with the big block M............we should have that.

We won't 'look like' Michigan because we have maroon not blue.
