A friend who watched the game on TV last night reported that one of the announcers has some words for Westbrook. Apparently he said, "Westbrook needs to stop pouting and get his head in the game". Being at the game, I didn't notice anything in particular up with Westbrook, but it has been his MO this year and when he makes an error he reacts poorly.
For those who questioned Devoe taking the last shot, I think Westbrook has shot himself in the foot this year with his unwillingness to get his ego in check.

I was there and it was no worse then normal. When DJ tells him something after Westy commits a foul he acts like DJ was ripping his first born. That is normal, Westy can't take advice from anyone on the team without having a come back. And when he thought he got hacked he cried to the ref and watched the boiler makers push the ball up the court. The guy can ball, but he is not a captain at all.

Yeah, the announcers were not impressed with Westbrook's attitude at all. They talked like they were surprised at what they saw, but Westy was just doing his usual routine. I guess we have become accustomed to his behavior.

It was after his third foul with three minutes left in the game. I thought he just looked intense but the announcers were pretty emphatic that he was pouting and didn't have his head in the game. Tubby pulled him after the first foul shot so Tubby seems to agree with the announcer.

I would say Tubby knows best but I often feel people put way too much importance on how soemone reacts to something. I thought he looked intense and pissed-off, I am ok with a player having a little anger. It wasn't a bad foul and nor a crucial foul, it was only his third.

I don't think it's any coincidence that when we played well these past few games against Purdue and Wisconsin, Westbrook shot less than normal. Only four shots against Wisconsin and six last night (plus a more average nine shots against an overmatched Indiana team). He has his strengths, but we're not as good a team when he's the focal point.

If his role remains a bit smaller, his pouting will only escalate.

He was pouting pretty badly. He got called for a foul and DJ touched his arm to tell him something, but Westbrook scowled and jerked his arm away. Then another teammate (Sampson?) tried to tell him something, and he jerked his arm away from him too, and scowled all around. I leaned over and told the person I was with that Westbrook was going to get pulled real fast. Sure enough, right after the first FT, Westbrook was out.

He seems to be an athletic little guy and a big head case.
