WR: Eric Decker, Minnesota Rivals.com ranking: 2 star

Decker was a stud at Minnesota, catching 227 passes for 3,119 yards and 24 touchdowns in four seasons. He led the conference in catches in 2008 with 84 en route to being named a first-team All-Big Ten member that season. Decker was also a standout in baseball, as he was drafted in the 39th round of the 2008 MLB Draft by the Milwaukee Brewers and the 27th round of the 2009 MLB Draft by the Minnesota Twins. He stuck with football and has enjoyed an outstanding professional career with the Denver Broncos and the New York Jets.

LB: Damien Wilson, Minnesota Rivals.com ranking: 2-star

Wilson transferred to Minnesota from Jones County Community College and played his junior and senior season for the Gophers. While at Minnesota, Wilson recorded an eye-popping 197 tackles in two seasons. He was named All-Big Ten his senior season after recording 119 stops, the most by a Minnesota player since Kim Royston made 123 in 2011. Wilson was selected in the fourth round of the 2015 NFL Draft by the Dallas Cowboys, which is where he plays today.

Go Gophers!!

Maxx was a 3-star, and thus does not meet their under-the-radar criteria.

I see that the Rivals ranking was the only consideration given. He was unranked by ESPN and MN was his only offer. I would consider that unheralded if you ask me.

He played in the Semper Fidelis All-American bowl while still in high school. It's pretty hard to make the argument that someone is unheralded if they're one of a small % that play in a HS All-American game.

Thanks for the article Bleed. I enjoyed it.

Few things (from article):

1. Dismiss Wilson and Mc Courty............by virtue of their signing and subsequently playing for an ACC team and a Big East team. Sorry Badger and Scarlet Knights fans but in this case, these 2 are irrelevant to the article IMO.

2. Chandler - great player with family ties to Iowa - wasn't as if they discovered a "diamond in the rough" though, and

3. Klug - still makes me shake my head. Watched him in the Section 1AA Semi-final in 2005. He picked off a Thomas O'Brien pass (see Gophers vs South Dakota State 2009) housed a TD and literally hurdled the DB in doing so. Was one of most incredible plays I have ever seen. Was an incredible player in SE MN. Wished we would have pushed hard for him. Kid was a very, very fine football player in HS.

I thought Eslinger wasn't rated very high, must have been a 3 star or he would have been on the list.
