He is reading the pre-snap keys. He goes thru progression. He knows when to step up in the pocket. He knows when to run. He throws with anticipation of the WR getting to the spot he is throwing.

I would give a lot of $$$ to have had him for a few years. He is special.

Yep. Even today, against a tough defense, he was 60%. His overall skills are the best in more than 20 years.
 


Yes. Watching Brosmer is almost like watching a veteran NFL quarterback that understands defenses and can hit the touch passes in zones.

Morgan had a magical 2019 with multiple future NFLers on offense and an easier schedule. He's close.

Weber might have been more talented, but on lesser teams with lesser coaching.

Marquis Gray was an uber-talented natural TE/receiver that happened to play QB here.
 



He is very good compared to the competition.

Not perfect. There were a few opportunities missed in this game….

Mitch had the confidence, leadership, toughness and balls of brass. The polished finess of Morgan and Brosmer was lacking....
 


I would love to see what Brosmer could have achieved with 2019 Gopher weapons.

Or in 2023 Spann-Ford probably would have been drafted in the second round if he could have had Brosmer lofting balls to him instead of fighting off blistering 5 yard missiles.

Definitely not Brosmer's best game as he missed a couple of TDs to Jackson (one early in the game would have been massive). But he came up big when needed late and feel super confident in him when the game is on the line.

The Morgan 2019 and Brosmer 2024 is a pretty good comparison. I'm giving the nod to Brosmer though because he doesn't have the same caliber of receivers that Morgan had in TJ and Bateman. Jackson is really really good but those two were amazing as a receiving duo that year.

Hes better than Morgan. Morgan had a better 2019 season but I’d take Max every time
 


I really like the guy, but he was very uncomfortable looking in the pocket in the first half especially. Not sure if it was something he didn’t expect the defense to do or if they were covering tighter than he was comfortable with in throwing the ball.
Illinois had some athletes at receiver and their DB’s.
 

Yes he's the best I've seen in a Gopher uniform. With all due respect to Craig Curry, Tony Dungy, Adam Weber and Tanner Morgan, Brosmer is the most accurate and, while he doesn't have a cannon for an arm, he can make most of the throws AND he's smart enough to avoid mistakes. Kinda reminds me of Brock Purdy.

His accuracy was not up to his norm during the first three quarters. Just a little off. He finished strong and the deep ball he dropped into Jackson on the left side line was a thing of beauty, as well as the catch.

The only knock on Max is his foot speed.
 

He certainly looks like it in these recent games. Tanner Morgan has 2019, but you have to look at the talent around him to be fair, having Johnson, Bateman, a healthy CRAB, plus the Smith-Brooks-Ibrahim backfield.

Hypothetically, if you gave Brosmer the same options, it certainly seems like Max could have great results as well. Weber also comes into play, because he's probably the biggest "what if" in this equation. He had a great deal of talent but was there during one of the worst coaching tenures.

Just looking at his progressions and throws, though, Max looks the part.

😍Jackson did a spot on Tyler Johnson imitation. That was a beautiful pitch and catch!
 

Weber's first season was basically throwing 2 to 3 and sometimes 4 yard quick slants over and over for many series in most games. His receivers could not get open beyond the 10 yard marker most of the time. Numerous 3 and outs. He never gave up though. Just didn't really get the chance to excel to his potential.

Weber took more of a beating than any other Gopher QB I can remember.
