Brooks not playing.... unspecified injury

Anyone know anything here? Shannon looked just fine on the sidelines in the few shots we got on TV. Must have all available forces next week to have any shot in Lincoln.

Hip flexor. Injured it Tuesday and was improving, but not quite ready to go. Should be ready next week.

It was a minor strain of his unspecified and he was held out as a precaution. Unspecifieds are tough to play on when not 100%.

NCAA needs to take a look at trying to protect injuries to the unspecified. This is starting to become a problem.

Does anyone know the severity of his injury? It looks like at a minimum, he could be out up to three weeks if it is a strain. We may not see him until the Wiscy game.

"With appropriate management, patients with a minor hip flexor strain can usually recover in one to three weeks. With larger tears, recovery may take four to eight weeks or longer depending on the severity. Complete ruptures of the hip flexor muscles are rare and are usually managed conservatively." http://www.athleticedge.biz/Hip_Flexor_Strain.html

He was walking around fine on the sidelines yesterday, so hopefully a precautionary hold out.
